Job Description / Responsibility

·         Is responsible for delivering oral translation for the national medical staff or expats and patients from the local languages to English and back, and from one local language into the other.

·         Is responsible for acting as a "medium" through which the communication takes places and not to interpret the information.

·         Is responsible for cooperating/interacting with the medical staff or expatriate staff to
deliver the best possible translation

·         Is responsible for providing the international staff with any relevant background information (culturally, historically, locally) in order to increase the contextual understanding.

·         Is responsible for delivering written translations for the national staff or expats and patients, into the local languages/English whenever necessary.

·         Is responsible for translating health education messages or any other messages from English into the local languages and back.

Graduate, preferably in English

Experience Requirements

·         1 to 2 year(s)

Additional Job Requirements

·         Work experience: 1-2 years of work experience as a Translator, or other relevant experience

·         Linguistic competence: Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, good knowledge of local languages including tribal languages, Chittagonian dialect essential.

·         Basic computer skills;

·         Good oral and written communication skills;

·         Ability to live and work in isolated areas;

·         Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-cultural team; and

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
