Research Officer at Department of Psychology

• Duration of Project: Two years
• Position Purpose: This position is to operate the psychological assessment centre where different assessment services will be available for the community people who are in need of mental health support services or any evaluation report for legal or official purposes. The position is responsible for coordinating research works on all large and small projects of developing, adopting, implementing and publishing various widely used assessment tools in the context of Bangladesh. This involves providing required resources, information and allocation of budget to the responsible consultant(s) who would be executing specific research work(s) for psychometric properties development tasks for a measure, as well as maintaining the office in a regular basis. The position requires a strong understanding of the ethics and governance model underpinning clinical registries, the ability to liaise with stakeholders and channel information, and preparation of appropriate documentation.
• Duties and responsibilities...
• Assisting in development and maintenance of a psychological assessment center with the necessary instruments and materials.
• Execution of key steps throughout the assessment process such as setting appointment for the assessors and clients, keeping records confidentially, deliver the records, maintain all the accounts and liaison with project coordinator.
• Ensuring and settling appointments and room assignment with assessors to arrange the standard environment necessary for reliable and valid assessment experience for each client or participant.
• Represent client meetings/calls and assist in the development of assessment tools in the form of translation, material review, data collection and writing report as per the project needs.
• Taking initiatives to make the project team perform required activities (e.g. assigning audit team, planned activities for program) to meet dead-lines of quarterly feedback reports to donor .
• Entering data for the activities and assessment logs accurately into the technology platform.
• Demonstrate openness to and acceptance by maintaining a pleasant professional manner and flexibility with scheduling.
• Work on special assignment as needed.
• Assist project coordinator and other members of the project with special project assignments and quality initiatives.
• Generate report and provide feedback to the department of clinical psychology and to the donor according to the project requirements.
• Occasional early morning/evening and weekend work to meet deadlines and interact with counterparts in different time zones.
• Responsibility areas will vary by client depending upon scope of services and technology platform.
• Note: There will be ample opportunities to directly participate in specific research activity and publication.

Educational Requirments

• Bachelor's Degree in any subject is required.
• Preference will be given to candidate from Accounting or Finance or Psychology background.

Additional Job Requirements

• Highly self-motivated and directed to research and psychological assessment.
• Excellent oral and written communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in both English and Bangla languages required to interact with client via email and phone.
• Strong orientation to customer service delivery.
• Basic administrative skills (typing, reporting, document and office organization, calendar management, skilled to use Microsoft Office suite).
• Ability to work within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
